NUB has been offering B.Sc. in Textile Engineering program since 2009. In Department of Textile Engineering (DTE) The degree is offered in accordance with the four major areas of textile manufacturing namely, Yarn Manufacturing Technology, Fabric Manufacturing Technology, Wet Processing Technology, and Apparel Manufacturing Technology. DTE aspires to become one of the best institutions for Textile education in the country and serve the Textile industry. Well-decorated, air-conditioned classrooms with multimedia facilities make learning interactive. The department has state-of-the-art laboratories representative of modern equipment and machines in the industry. Around 3000 students are currently enrolled in the B.Sc. in Textile Engineering Program, and the number is steadily rising.  To meet the contemporary demands of the industry, DTE also offers short courses. This department is in the process of introducing a master's degree program in textile engineering. The Department organizes industrial visits for its students on a regular basis, and there is a mandatory course work titled "Industrial Attachment & Comprehensive Viva". All these are set up in order to familiarize them with up-to-date technologies entering the field every day. The Department has collaboration with many foreign universities including Wuhan University (China), D.K.T.E Society’s Textile and Engineering Institute (India). The Department frequently organizes training sessions and webinars for its faculties and students. Extracurricular activities, such as debate competitions, sports, quiz contests, music night, picnics, etc. are arranged regularly. The Department keeps a friendly atmosphere among the students and faculty members.
